Beach Obzor

Obzor Beach is a broad, gently curving stretch of golden sand that runs for more than two kilometres along the coast at the small resort town of Obzor, positioned almost exactly halfway between Varna and Burgas. The beach sits at the foot of the eastern Balkan Mountains, where forested hills roll down to meet the sea, creating some of the most scenic coastal views in Bulgaria. Obzor occupies a unique microclimate zone. The mountains behind the town trap warm air along the coast and provide shelter from cold continental winds, which means summer arrives earlier and lingers longer here than at many other Black Sea destinations. From late May through to mid-October, conditions are pleasant enough for beach visits, though the prime swimming season runs from June to September when air temperatures range from twenty-five to thirty-three degrees Celsius and the water warms to between twenty-two and twenty-six degrees.
