Pomorie South Beach is the main bathing beach on the southern side of the Pomorie peninsula, a narrow strip of land that juts into the Black Sea between Burgas Bay and Pomorie Lake. The beach runs for approximately one and a half kilometres of fine grey-gold sand backed by a modern promenade. Pomorie is one of the oldest settlements on the Bulgarian coast, founded over two and a half thousand years ago as a Greek trading colony. Today it is a mid-sized town known for its therapeutic mud, salt production and affordable seaside holidays. The South Beach is the busier of the town's two main beaches, offering a full range of services including umbrella and sunbed rentals, lifeguard supervision, beach bars, restaurants and water sports.
