Sveti Vlas Beach is a one-and-a-half-kilometre strip of fine golden sand set against the forested slopes of the eastern Balkan Mountains on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Sveti Vlas has developed rapidly over the past two decades from a small fishing village into a modern resort, yet it retains a more relaxed and upscale character than its bustling neighbour Sunny Beach. The marina at the southern end of town is the largest on the Bulgarian coast, with berths for hundreds of yachts and a waterfront promenade lined with seafood restaurants and cocktail bars. The beach itself stretches northward from the marina along a gently curving bay.
