Sveti Vlas Beach is a one-and-a-half-kilometre strip of fine golden sand set against the forested slopes of the eastern Balkan Mountains on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The resort town of Sveti Vlas sits three kilometres north of Sunny Beach and seven kilometres from the ancient town of Nessebar, combining a quieter atmosphere with easy access to the region's main attractions. Sveti Vlas has developed rapidly over the past two decades from a small fishing village into a modern resort, yet it retains a more relaxed and upscale character than its bustling neighbour Sunny Beach. The marina at the southern end of town is the largest on the Bulgarian coast, with berths for hundreds of yachts and a waterfront promenade lined with seafood restaurants and cocktail bars. The beach itself stretches northward from the marina along a gently curving bay.
